Fun Run

Big Brothers Big Sisters, partners with Range Bank/Pioneer Days, for a 2 mile Fun Run/Walk or 10K Run every year in July during Pioneer week. For an entrance fee, you can participate in the walk/run with an award ceremony to follow.

Econo-Foods Receipts

Help Support Big Brothers Big Sisters! A fundraiser where you don't have to give any money? That's right, all you have to do is save your Econo-Foods Receipts and turn them in at to us. Econo-Foods will donate 1% of the receipt total to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Marquette & Alger Counties to be used to support our local matches in Marquette & Alger Counties.

We suggest that you put all your Econo-Foods Receipts in an envelope, and when you have a bunch of them, drop them off at our office, or mail them in to BBBS 101 N. Pioneer Ave Negaunee, MI 49866. Or you can call and we can arrange to pick them up.

Receipts can be from any date, so if you are a receipt saver, in the spirit of early spring cleaning, you can clear out your filing cabinet or shoe box and let us turn your receipts into money that will help support youth in our community.

Other individual contributions

There are various ways to contribute to the BBBS organization without actually becoming a Big Brother or Big Sister:

• Contribute gifts of monetary value such as cash, stocks or bonds that will be used to help run the organization.
• Donate time and talents to other segments of running the organization. Some activities include helping  with bulk mailings and other clerical work.
• Donations of estate and other personal property.
• Buy and wear Big Brothers / Big Sisters shirts

Companies, corporations, and organizations

Sponsorship and Partnerships

Become a sponsor or partner in annual events such as Bowling for Kids Sake.

Beyond sponsorship, larger organizations can:

• Donate unneeded office supplies or services such as graphic designs or printing
• Make planned gifts for the future benefit of the Big Brother Big Sisters organization.
• Donate tickets to various events and outings to be used by Bigs and Littles

Casual Dress for BBBS

Do you work at a place of business with a dress code? Is there some wiggle wiggle room? Here's an idea adaptable to suit your workplace- Sell stickers for $2 or $3 on every other Friday that say something like, "I'm dressing down to support Big Brothers Big Sisters." What a great & easy way to raise some funds!

Why Donate?

Big Brothers Big Sisters needs YOU.

Support from individuals like you is vital to provide mentors for children in our community.

And we know they need them. It isn’t easy being a kid these days. In these complex and confusing times, children need a caring adult to be a mentor and a friend — someone they can talk to, have fun with, and learn from.

Research shows that our mentoring works. Kids with a Big Brother or Big Sister show real differences in their personal and academic lives. They are:

• More confident in their schoolwork performance
• Able to get along better with their families
• 52% less likely to skip school. ¹

92.2% of every dollar you give goes directly to making and supporting matches. The remainder covers overall program administration.  Charity Navigator, the country’s premier independent charity evaluator, has awarded Big Brothers Big Sisters of America a 4-star “exceptional” rating for outstanding fiscal management for the fifth consecutive year.

Donating will help to:

• Help recruit new Big Brother and Big Sister volunteers
• Cover the costs of background checks and insurance, while ensuring trained professionals match children to caring and responsible Bigs
• Offer one-on-one, ongoing supervision and support for every match
• Provide cultural and social activities to enrich the opportunities for children

Your donation goes to our community. When you donate to Big Brothers Big Sisters, you directly support children in our community.

No matter how much you give, donating will improve the lives of young people in our community. Your donation will help them meet the challenges of growing up into happy, confident young adults.
